A filmmaker by training and profession, Samreen is a director, producer and editor creating non-fiction content in various media since 2000. Her work engages with the changing socio-political realities, rebellious subcultures and intimate personal narratives tracing identity and history of an India-in-transition.

She has eighteen years experience in directing teams, collaborating with various stakeholders and technical specialists involved in the diverse stages of film and video production.  

Samreen has been collaborating with Moving Images as an associate director, cameraperson and editor since 2005, on issues of conservation, livelihoods, environment and sustainable development.

She also co-founded Hit and Run Films that specialized in feature-length documentaries that have traveled to national and international festivals, and aired on various channels.
